On Tuesday 17 February, 44 students represented Albion Park High School at the Southern Illawarra Zone Swimming Carnival, held at Dapto Pool. This was our largest team entry in some years which made for some excellent school spirit and a great day for all involved.
It was another hot day which made the pool very inviting. Unfortunately, unlike our school carnival, the teachers didn't get to have a dip, but the students were definitely enjoying it!
A big thank you to all of the students who stepped up to participate in many relay teams. As the relays are held towards the end of the day, it often means that students have finished their individual races and are waiting around, in the heat, for the relays to begin. Your participation in the relays demonstrates the pride you take in being part of an Albion Park High School team. This dedication paid off for a lot of you as many of our teams made it through to the next carnival! Well done!
Special thanks to two of our year 12 Sports Coaching students, Taylah Hazelton and Gemma Still who assisted Mr Maidment with timekeeping all day. Great job, girls!
Congratulations to the students who made it through to the South Coast Regional Swimming Carnival, which was held on Thursday 5 March.
