Welcome Back to 2017!
It was a dramatic start for Year 7s this year with forty three degree heat on their introduction to High School. Despite the uncomfortable weather the cohort was wonderful and the day was successful.
Thanks to Year Adviser Michelle Hutchins who sweltered with the students ensuring that they were in the shade, ‘watered' and looked after!
Thanks also to Year 12 who kindly had spray packs of water to cool the students down.
We have a record number of new staff to welcome into the Albion Park High family.
New permanent staff members are: ¿
- Head Teacher Welfare Todd Wilcoxon
- HSIE teacher Shane Schonell ¿
- Science teacher Nick Aston ¿
- PE teacher starting term 2, Matthew Meikele
New Temporary staff are: ¿
- Art teacher Janine Carters ¿
- PE teacher Lauren Farquar ¿
- TAS teacher Gavin McKinnon ¿
- Art and Special Education Monica Ristevski
I would also like to Welcome back Sarah Hiscocks and Nicole Woods who have been on maternity leave for 2016.
Congratulations to Amy Greig who was married over the Christmas break and is now Amy Caldwell.
Uniform so far in week one, looks impressive but there are still a large number of mainly Year 10 students who are wearing gym boots. This is a reminder that there are only two stipulations for shoes, that they must be:
- 1. BLACK
- 2. LEATHER (or suede)
This is a safety issue and there are no exceptions.
Congratulations to Matthew Stevens who received the DUX award of 2016 and gained a wonderful HSC ATAR of 92.20. Well done to Matthew your success is testament to your hard work and determination.
I am quite sure that 2011 am quite sure that 2017 will be a wonderful year for us all as we work together to ensure the very best educational and life outcomes for your children.
