Last updated 9:13 AM on 27 July 2016

On Monday 27 and Tuesday 28 June, thirteen girls from Year 8 graduated from the SHINE program for Term 2.
SHINE is a self-esteem program for girls highlighting:

  • Worth
  • Strength and
  • Purpose

It is always a very successful program which develops understanding about each girl's worth and how to realise her potential through goals and dreams.

It was held at Dapto Ribbonwood Centre over two full days with a graduation luncheon held at noon on the last day at Murphy's Bar and Grill, Unanderra.

It has been beneficial to all the girls. Feedback was positive, as always, and comments from the girls include;
"It has been inspiring and educational at the same time"
"SHINE has been enjoyable and it makes you feel good about yourself."
"The program has been very useful and opened my eyes more about who I am."

A special thank you to:

  • Mrs Sam Wheatley who represented the P & C Association of Albion Park High School at the Graduation Luncheon.
  • The P & C for their continual support of this program.
  • The Oak Flats Lioness Club who generously provide funding for the course.
  • Mrs Ursula Cable – Year 8 Advisor, who attended and supported the girls at the graduation luncheon
  • All the SHINE ladies for their ongoing commitment to the program
