Last Thursday, February 13, 2014, marked the anniversary of a National Apology given in 2008 by then Prime Minister, Kevin Rudd to Australia¿s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples. This apology is important to our history as it reflected on the past laws and policies of injustice and recognised the cultural impact of the Stolen Generation. In the lead up to National Sorry Day, which is held annually on May 26, it is important to acknowledge the address which has become known as the Apology Anniversary, as it carries great significance being the first motion from Federal Parliament.

At Albion Park High School, we commemorated the Apology Anniversary at the whole school assembly and held a of minute silence for those people affected by the Stolen Generation.
