The vast majority of parents who have been
surveyed about school uniforms, have supported the idea that school uniforms
should be worn. Uniform monitoring occurs on a daily basis and a comment
recorded on half yearly and yearly reports. Most prospective employers find this
information very important.
WHY
DO WE HAVE A SCHOOL UNIFORM?
Uniforms
identify you in several ways:
-
Firstly,
it allows the community to see you clearly as a student of Albion Park High School. If we are
proud of our school we should wear our uniform, which is our identity, with
pride. A school is like a cricket team; you would not see the Australian
cricket team complain about their team colours or design. They wear their
uniform with pride and this helps create a feeling of team spirit as well as
better team performance.
-
Secondly,
uniforms do not discriminate. It does not matter whether you are rich or poor,
you can look presentable with a minimum of expense.
-
Finally
there is the safety aspect. In certain areas of the school (e.g. Industrial
Arts) protective clothing, notably footwear, is essential for personal safety.
SO
WEAR THE SCHOOL UNIFORM AND BE PROUD OF IT!!
New
uniforms as well as uniform material may be purchased at very reasonable prices
from Albion Park High School P & C. The uniform day is held on Mondays between
1.00 - 2.40pm, in the storeroom opposite the
library entrance.
Payment
may be made by cash or cheque (made payable to “APHS P&C Uniform Account”).
Sorry, no credit card facilities are available.
If
you need to change your child’s uniform, due to wrong sizes for example, this
may be done within 7 days, and must be accompanied by your receipt. We also
have some second hand garments for sale at a greatly reduced cost.
