For several years Albion Park has been a rapidly developing area with the opening of the Centenary Estate. By 1990 the population had increased to the
point where a local high school was required.
The building of our 9 million dollar school was well publicised and many members of the community
became strongly
involved in the planning of enrolments, classes and other educational requirements.
In the middle of 1990, Colin Walters was appointed as first principal of the school. Mr Walters was involved with community members, prospective students, the Department of Education and Oak Flats High School in establishing the new curriculum,
resourcing and staffing the school (The Flame, 2000). |
